Iris is UNC School of Medicine’s Arts and Literary Journal. Submissions from students, faculty, and staff include works of photography, poetry, prose, and visual art, among other forms of creative expression.
The journey we share together through medical school is a precious time devoted to the exchange of ideas and the co-creation of knowledge. The name Iris echoes that of the eye — a feature unique to every person. In regulating the amount of light passing through to the retina, the iris refines our perception of the world. The artistic pieces contained within Iris reflect these diverse perspectives of medicine from the UNC community and beyond.
